Nottingham Lions turned on the style with a hard fought victory in Widnes 4-2 on Sunday night at the Silverblades Rink and continue to lead the pack and all of this was without Irina Bugrimova being in the building!

Head Coach Matt Bradbury was pleased how the evening went for the Lions "We did a great job tonight and played a full 60 and seem to be learning more every time we step onto the ice."

"Four different goal scorers on the game sheet and to be fair their could have been more as we missed some wonderful opportunites to pull away from the Wild and to go into Widnes and outshoot them in all three periods is no mean feat - we played a smart game and deserved the points."

"There was a big crowd that treated to an exciting game and will go away having been enteratined with a great example of end to end competitive hockey."

"For such a young and inexperienced side we showed huge maturity in such a tight game and when Widnes pulled it back to 2-2 with 5 minutes to go we showed huge character to not back down and still go on and look for the winner and to win the game - right now I am really proud of what my players are achieving."
