The Lions second game of the weekend is against the Bradford Bulldogs who are languishing at the wrong end of the Laidler Conference table although with a well earned 5-3 win over Altrincham Aces last night overtook the Coventry Blaze picking up their first two points of the 2016-17 campaign. Tonight they will be looking to continue this change in fortune and build on this in Nottingham.

Last night an under strength Lions picked up a quality 4-1 road win at the Skydome beating Coventry Blaze with a professional and disciplined display. Solid performances all round in particular from MOM Ondrej Pniok and netminder Tom Hovell.

Over the past couple of seasons there have been some keenly fought games against a very ‘dogged’, excuse the pun, team from Bradford some of them quite physical on occasions.

Bradford recently gave Widnes Wild a scare leading in a game where they finally just missed out on causing a major upset to the conference favourites.

If the past is anything to go by this will prove yet another tough encounter with a team eager to make it’s mark. Bradford in recent games have produced a number of goals from the power play therefore the fewer penalties the better to reduce these goal scoring opportunities.

Last Saturday saw the Lions on the road to Altrincham Aces and they managed to return with a point in 4-4 tied game. A good performance and a solid point gained.

Face off tonight at the National Ice Centre is at 7.30pm.
