Families that may be interested in getting their young boy or girl on their first steps to becoming an ice hockey star of the future, can now access a free taster session at the National Ice Centre.

The session is designed for young players between the ages of 4-7 and the programme is specifically designed to help the youngsters get their first experience of playing this fantastic sport.


It all takes place on Saturday 2nd November 2013, on the main arena rink (which is a wonderful experience in itself!).

There are two sessions and the format is a follows:-

Ice Hockey introduction: 2.15pm – 2.45pm.
On Ice Taster (Group 1): 3pm – 3.30pm (max 20).
On Ice Taster (Group 2): 3.30pm – 4pm (max 20).

Safety equipment will be supplied by the NIC, including helmets, skates, sticks and gloves. Qualified coaches will be on the ice delivering the session, alongside two or three members of the current Lions squad.

Every attendee will receive two complimentary tickets (1 adult and 1 child) to watch the Nottingham Lions top of the table clash against Deeside Dragons at the NIC on Sunday 3rd November (7.30pm).
