The Nottingham Lions embark on their last road trip of 2013 on Sunday evening, as they prepare to face an in-form Barons side at Solihull Ice Rink (6pm).

Two-goal hero Craig Wallis tussles with Solihull’s Perry Doyle during the Lions’ 3-2 win in Solihull, back in October.

Second-placed Solihull are currently in the midst of an eight-game winning streak, which could be increased to nine before the Lions arrival, if they can secure two points in their game at Blackburn on Saturday night. They also come into the weekend’s fixtures on the back of two consecutive victories over the current league leaders, Deeside Dragons.

The Lions will be under no illusion at the size of the task ahead, knowing they will be coming up against the league’s best attack and defence (109 goals scored – 31 conceded) but they will be buoyed by the fact that they have beaten the Barons twice already this season.

Nottingham edged both of those games by one goal, Luke Branin and Dan Hazeldine both scored in their 2-1 victory at the National Ice Centre back in September, whilst October saw them claim a 3-2 win at the Hobs Moat Road rink, thanks to a Craig Wallis brace and a Neil Adams goal.

The Lions will hope to have a full roster at their disposal, as Head Coach Matt Bradbury returns from the 2013 World University Winter Games in Trentino, Italy, along with defensemen Jack Baveystock, James Francis-Barrie and Cameron Good, forwards Stephen Breisner and Christy Johnson-Brown and Assistant Coach Simon Hopkins.

Don’t forget that if you can’t make the journey to the West Midlands to roar on the boys, you can keep up to date with all the live action by following the Lions’ official Twitter feed from 6pm.
