Another tricky double header awaits the Nottingham Lions this weekend, as they battle to stay alongside their title-chasing rivals.

Today sees them make the short trip to Ice Sheffield to face local rivals the Senators (4.30pm) and tomorrow (Sunday) sees Nottingham host Hull Stingrays at the National Ice Centre (7.30pm).

Mikey Rose and Sheffield’s Jonny Bell come to blows during the Lions recent 4-1 win at the NIC.

Nottingham will be looking to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, after a loss and a tie in their previous two games, against Deeside and Widnes respectively. Meanwhile, their two opponents are showing signs of improvement in recent weeks, despite both of them currently finding themselves at the wrong end of the Laidler Conference table.

The Senators will no doubt be looking for revenge after their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Matt Bradbury’s side at the National Ice Centre last month and they have been in good form of late, holding table-topping Deeside Dragons and Coventry Blaze to credible draws in recent weeks.

Back in September, the Lions left it late to rescue a point against the Stingrays in a 4-4 draw at Hull Arena in the team’s only meeting so far this season. Robert Perks snatched a point for Nottingham, grabbing an equalising goal with just eighteen seconds left in the game.

Mikey Rose is still an injury doubt for Nottingham after missing last weekend’s action, otherwise Bradbury will hope to have a full roster to choose from for both fixtures.

If you can’t make the trip to Ice Sheffield today, don’t forget you can follow all the action via the official Lions Twitter feed from 4.30pm this afternoon.

The Lions home game experience represents great value for money – ticket prices start from just £2.50 and with the Panthers vs Steelers game finishing just before the Lions’ face off against the Stingrays, there really is no better time to come down and help roar the boys on to victory tomorrow evening.
