The Lions take to the road once again for their only game of the weekend as they travel to meet the Hull Jets.
Usually this is an interesting match up with the Jets always pushing hard to make a game of it, and the Lions will need to impose themselves on the home team from not only the first minute but to the final hooter to keep their recent positive results coming.
The teams have met twice already this season and this will be the final road trip for the Lions over to the Hull rink, with the final game between these two to be played in Nottingham next Sunday night.
The Lions currently hold the upper hand with a 4-2 home win and a 3-9 away win already under their belts so the home team will be going all out to make this final home game a Jets win.
At the moment the Jets occupy the 6th place in the conference with Altrincham Aces the nearest team above them 6 points ahead and with games in hand so it would take a real turn around in fortunes for the Jets to make any substantial progress in the conference this season.
Although possibly out of the running for honours there is always pride to be played for and the Jets are in a strong position to influence the season for both the Lions and the Aces should they achieve wins against either of them as these two teams are running pretty close in 4th and 5th position in the conference and with both desperately seeking that all important play off place.
In their last game at Hull it was only in the third period that the Lions achieved some well earned breathing space as they went into that final 20 minutes 5-3 to the good and needing to add to that scoreline. With a 4-0 final period the Lions wrapped up the game with a 3-9 win.
Face off tonight in Hull is 5.15pm.
