The Nottingham Lions' assistant captain Mikey Rose has announced his retirement from the game.

The twenty-two year-old, utility man, had suffered a number of concussions throughout his career, including a couple over recent months and has decided to call time on his short career in the senior game.

The former Nottingham junior player notched up twenty-six goals and thirty-six assists between September 2011 and March 2013.

This season, Mikey accumulated six goals and six assists from thirteen games, including a hat-trick against Widnes Wild, at the National Ice Centre, back in October.
Everyone at the Lions would like thank Mikey for his efforts.
Luke Branin will now take over Rose's assistant captain duties, for the remainder of the 2013/14 season.
