In association with the National Ice Centre, the Nottingham Lions are delighted to announce their first one day Adult  Hockey Skills & Drills Day Clinic, which will take place on Saturday 21st February.

For the excellent price of just £40, adult players from Recreational and University Teams will get the chance to hit the main arena ice for a total of four hours, whilst Lions head coach Matt Bradbury, assistant coach Paul Glossop and Nottingham Ice Hockey Club head coach Mike Urquhart impart their collective wisdom.

The sessions are aimed at pushing all participants' games to the next level and will provide a great opportunity to work on skating technique, agility and conditioning, whilst having a fun and enjoyable experience.

Also covered will be areas such as working on your basic skills, more challenging drills to improve your skill set, enhancing shooting, passing and sticks skills along with more game-like drills.

The two sessions will take place between 11.30am to 1.30pm and 3.00-5.00pm and a selection of Lions players will also be in attendance to assist with the on ice activities.

Clearly looking forward to the event, Matt Bradbury spoke to this week and said:

"Working on a new venture like this with the National Ice Centre brings exciting times to the Lions and something we can all be proud of. It's a wonderful opportunity to work with a new batch of players and even more exciting for the participants who will get some quality ice time on the main arena."

"As an organisation we are recognised for our ethos of working with and developing local talent and this is exactly what we will be doing during the clinic and having our coaching staff and players on the ice will be create a chance to encourage these improving players further" added Bradbury.

Lions head coach also noted the similarities between the Lions and the Rec and Uni teams,  as he went on to add:

"All the players are keen to learn and get better, have a passion for the game and are committed to reaching their potential. The four hours ice time will be hard graft for everyone involved, but of real benefit and I'm sure that each player will take something away from the day and use that experience on the ice for some time to come."

Each player booking onto the clinic will also receive two complimentary tickets to the Lions' home game against Telford Tigers on Sunday 1st March.
