The Nottingham Lions are delighted to announce the addition of 31 year-old Birmingham-born forward Neil Adams to their 2013/14 roster.
Neil is perhaps best known for playing nine seasons with Nottingham’s Midlands rivals the Solihull Barons, including last season, where he bagged eleven goals and twenty-two assists in twenty-two games, helping the West Midlands club to third place in NIHL Division Two North.
The Former GB Under18 and Under 20 international, who previously had a stint in Nottingham as a junior has also iced for Romford Raiders, Guildford Flames, Solihull Kings and the Birmingham Barons.
Lions Head Coach Matt Bradbury spoke to nottinghamlions.co.uk this week and was in no doubt about the type of impact Adams can have on the Lions squad as they prepare for life in the brand new NIHL Laidler Conference, saying;
“Neil comes to us with vast knowledge and experience of hockey which will only be beneficial to our younger players – he has put up some good numbers last year and I’m certainly expecting him to fit in nicely here.”
“What excites me with Neil is his hunger, he’s looking for a fresh start and I know that he will be a real asset both on and off the ice.”
Adams becomes the second player to make the move from the Barons to the National Ice Centre this summer after former NHL defenseman Chris Allen joined the Lions earlier this month.
The new season is now just over four weeks away, and with new signings still to be announced make sure you keep checking back at nottinghamlions.co.uk over the coming days for more exciting player acquisition news.
