Nottingham Lions are delighted to announce the return of Ben Wilson for the 2017/18 NIHL season, which will be his fifth consecutive season with Lions and his eighth overall.
The 30-year-old local player brings plenty of experience and isn’t afraid to protect his team mates when the going gets tough.
Head Coach Matt Bradbury couldn’t be happier that Wilson is returning to The Den, saying:
“Ben has been around the Nottingham ice hockey scene for some time now and he’s a great guy to have around the team, the locker room and on the ice.
"He’s been working hard on his fitness and power in the gym this summer as he knows this season could be a big one for him. He has everyone’s back and we cannot ask for anymore, he knows his role and is happy to oblige when necessary.
"Ben is a real fans favourite and I’m happy to have him back in the black and gold this year.”
Wilson himself is looking forward to being tested at a higher level once again, saying:
“I'm really excited about the upcoming season, after been part of the Nottingham club where my hockey all began. I hope I can help my team in any way possible and I know it's going to be a lot more physical this year, which I am so looking forward to. I've had a stint in the EPL many years ago for Sheffield Scimitars, which was a great challenge, but I think Nottingham Lions as a team are ready for what lies ahead.”
