Nottingham will head down to the West Midlands full of confidence on the back of victories over Blackburn Eagles and Solihull Barons in their two opening games of the new 2013/14 Laidler Conference season.

Coventry began their season with a convincing 7-2 home win over Sheffield, followed by a narrow 5-4 loss to neighbours Solihull. Yesterday’s trip to face Blackburn Eagles saw them score ten goals without reply, leaving them level on points with the Lions in the table.

Mikey Rose will miss the trip through injury, Dan Hazeldine will also miss out after picking up a match penalty against the Barons last weekend. Reece Glossop returns from suspension and could make his first appearance of the season tonight.

The last time the two teams met at the Skydome, Coventry scored a 5-2 win in an important, bottom of the table clash in the old NIHL Division 1 North. Goals from Gareth O’Flaherty and Christy Johnson-Brown were not enough to prevent the home side claiming the much-needed two points.
