Few were as pleased as Pudsey on Friday evening as Lions Winger Michael Rose and GM Danny Harrison handed over a cheque for £250 to Pudsey Bear after their sponsored head shave before training at the NIC on Thursday night.

Lions' Michael Rose and Danny Harrison present the cheque to Pudsey.

The cheque was handed over live on TV alongside the National Ice Centre’s Pip The Penguin and Bluebell Hill Primary Schools’ mascot Bluebell Bear during the BBC East Midlands live Children In Need event at Loughborough University.

Massive thanks to all who donated their hair and their money.

This evening the Lions travel to the Blackburn Ice Arena to take on the Hawks for the first time this season (Face-Off 5.45pm).

Nottingham will travel to Lancashire without a few familiar faces in their squad – Elliot Perrin and Matt Greaves both miss the rest of the remainder of the season with a broken arm and dislocated shoulder respectivley, Netminder Alan Levers is still out for another four weeks with a knee problem and Craig Wallis is still sidelined for another three weeks with a broken hand.

The Lions will also be missing Danny Rose, Dan Hazeldine and Cameron Good who are on duty with the Under-18′s and Reece Glossop is unavailable due to work commitments.

The Hawks sit just one point above the Lions in the standings at present although the home side do have a number of games in-hand over their visitors. So the Lions will be looking for two points this evening despite a number of key absentees.

You can keep up to date with all the action tonight by following the official Lions Twitter page – where all the action and goals will be to relayed to your mobiles and computers as it happens.
